KIM Sang-Jo, Chairman of the Korea Fair Trade Commission Speaks 2018

The ICR Law Center invited the Chairman of the Korea Fair Trade Commission (the “KFTC”) KIM Sang-Jo in cooperation with the Korea Fair Competition Institute and Sogang University ICT Law and Economy Institute to hold a speaking event on the direction of Fair Trade Policy in 2018.

At this meeting, the KFTC stated that their goals for this year aimed at improving the quality of people's lives to go beyond institutionalization by improving market practices and real transactional terms through the establishment of a fair market economy.

The KFTC also emphasized that it is important not only to revise the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act but also to create synergies with related laws such as corporate laws, capital market laws and criminal laws. This created much enthusiasm for the KFTC’s future role.
